SSC CGL Tier 1 Exam Pattern – Structure Of The Examination
The Tier 1 of the Combined Graduate Level Exam Pattern will be conducted on computers. The total number of questions in this tier will be 100. It will have four sections – General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude and English Comprehension. Each question will carry 02marks and the maximum marks are 200. Candidates will be given a total of 60 minutes to complete the examination. Moreover, there will be negative marking of 0.50 marks for each wrong answers. Scheme Of Exam – SSC CGL Tier 2 Exam Pattern
Only those candidates will be allowed to sit for this tier who qualify the Tier I of the examination. The Tier 2 will consist of four papers with different questions and marks. Name of the subjects of these four papers are Quantitative Abilities, English Language and Comprehension, Statistics and General Studies (Finance and Economics). The negative marking scheme in this tier of SSC CGL Exam Pattern 2018 is different for the four papers. For Paper-II (English Language and Comprehension) the negative marking will be of 0.25 marks. For all the other tiers (I, III and IV) the negative marking will be of 0.50 marks. Some important points :
- The Paper I and II of this tier are compulsory for all the posts.
- The Paper III in this tier will only be for those candidates who have applied for the post of post of Junior Statistical Officer (JSO). Paper IV for this tier will only be for the candidates who have applied for the post of Assistant Audit Officer/ Assistant Accounts Officer.

SSC CGL Exam Pattern 2018 – Tier 3 III Scheme
The third tier will of Descriptive nature type. Candidates who qualify the Tier I and II will be allowed to appear for this examination. It will be conducted in Pen and Paper mode. Candidates will be asked to write an Essay/ Precis/ Letter/ Application etc. in a total time of 60 minutes.

Tier 4 Examination – SSC CGL Exam Pattern 2018
A Computer Proficiency Test/ Skill/ Document Verification will be conducted for the required posts in this stage of Exam Pattern Of SSC CGL. All those candidates who qualify the Computer Efficiency Test will be asked to bring the Mark sheets for all the three years of Graduation/ Provisional Certificate/ Certificate of Graduation in original. This document verification will be done to check that the candidate has passed all the degrees as on 01.08.2018.
